Barry Farm

The Barry Farm neighborhood is located in Ward 8, east of the Anacostia River and just south of Historic Anacostia, in Southeast Washington, DC. Barry Farm, the housing complex, consists of 432 public housing units. As part of the New Communities Initiative, Barry Farm (and 12 units in an adjacent property, Wade Apartments) will be redeveloped into a mixed-use, mixed-income community. Barry Farm is conveniently located amid a hub of transit activity, adjacent to two arterial highways: Interstate 295, and Suitland Parkway, as well as the Anacostia Metro Station. The neighborhood is also in close proximity to some of the area’s highest performing charter schools.
