Lincoln Heights Pre-4th of July Celebration

Residents of Lincoln Heights are invited to attend the 2nd Annual Pre-4th of July Celebration! There will be family fun activities, games for children, music, and free food and drinks!

6th Annual DC Housing Expo

  • Walter E. Washington Convention Center (801 Mt. Vernon Place, NW)

New Communities will be participating as a table exhibitor at the city’s 6th Annual DC Housing Expo held by the DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) in partnership with the Greater Washington Urban League. The event is free and open to the public, and members of the public can REGISTER HERE. Also, CLICK HERE MORE INFORMATION ON PARTNERS, EXHIBITORS, AND WORKSHOPS. The expo will take place on Saturday, June 21st, between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00pm.

Lincoln Heights Community Meeting

The monthly meeting for Lincoln Heights will take place on Monday, June 2nd, at the Riverside Center: 5200 Foote Street, NE–across from Marvin Gaye Park (located at the corner of Division Avenue and Foote Street, NE).  This will be the last community meeting before the summer break. All Lincoln Heights and Richardson Dwellings residents are encouraged to attend!

19th Annual DC SCORES Jamboree

DC SCORES is a New Communities human capital grantee in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood. DC SCORES builds teams through after-school programs for over 1,500 DC low-income youth at 47 schools by instilling self-expression, physical fitness, and sense of community.

Lincoln Heights Community Meeting

The April monthly meeting will be held at the Riverside Center (5200 Foote Street, NE) and will serve as an opportunity for residents of Lincoln Heights/Richardson Dwellings to get a status update on the development of the New Communities Initiative. Residents will also hear from public safety officials, and community partners. There will be a special presentation by the DC Department of Human Services on the status of the TANF program (Temporary Cash Assistance for Needy Families). Lincoln Heights Community Meeting

The February monthly meeting included a public safety update provided by officers from the DC Housing Authority, the Metropolitan Police Department, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Additionally, the DC Housing Authority gave an update on the demolition disposition application that will need to be approved by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. The guest speaker for the evening was Morris Redd from the Ward 7 Safe and Drug Free Communities Coalition.
