Ward 8 Works
WHAT IS WARD 8 WORKS?
Ward 8 Works is a partnership between 30+ District government agencies, nonprofit service providers, developers and contractors to connect Ward 8 residents with pre-construction and construction jobs on the many development projects coming to Ward 8. Government and service provider partners are committed to working with residents to get the “job ready” for work in construction. Developer and contractor partners are committed to prioritizing job-ready candidates from Ward 8 Works in their hiring. Though there are some immediate opportunities, most of the first jobs through Ward 8 Works will be available early 2018. We are starting early, however, so that we can address barriers residents might have in getting and keeping a job on participating projects.
