Park Morton Career and Resource Fair

Housing Opportunities Unlimited (HOU), the New Communities Initiative case manaagement provider for the Park Morton neighborhood, sponsored its annual Career and Resource Fair at the Banneker Recreation Center.  HOU partnered with over 20 employers and training providers, including the Department of Employment Services, DC Housing Authority’s Section 3 Employment representatives and the ARMY.  Over 100 participants were served through this event.

Mayor Gray and Deputy Mayor Hoskins Cut Ribbon on The Avenue

Mayor Vincent C. Gray and Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development Victor L. Hoskins were joined by Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham, other Councilmembers and dignitaries to ceremonially cut the ribbon on The Avenue. The Avenue is a mixed-use development that consists of 83 units of affordable housing, including 27 replacement units with a priority for Park Morton residents.
