The DC Housing Authority announced solicitation for redevelop of its headquarters building at 1133 North Capitol St. NE as mixed-use to include retail, commercial and residential development. The site’s existing
zoning allows for a total of 1.1 million gross square feet of development potential, which will include a new headquarters for the housing agency. For more information, click here.
Mayor Vincent C. Gray, other government officials and representatives of the development and financing teams celebrated the groundbreaking of The SeVerna on K – a residential housing development that will provide affordable rental housing as part of the Northwest One New Communities Initiative. The SeVerna on K construction is the second phase of The SeVerna development project. Sustained by $35 million in bond, grant and tax-credit financing through the DC Housing Finance Agency, the DC Department of Housing and Community Development and DC Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, and private financing, the SeVerna on K represents a significant District investment in affordable housing and its commitment to the Northwest One New Communities Initiative that will feature a total of 133 housing units.
